If you are visiting Connecticut, Hubbard Park is a nice long hike straight to the top, with a view that is worth the hike. There is a difficult hike and an easy hike. The difficult hike is shorter to the top as it cuts through the forest and rocky terrain, while the easier hike uses the roads to get to the top. I believe this is the highest point from CT to Maine and is beautiful to visit during the fall.

Next I would recommend any of the lighthouses in the area. My favorite lighthouse is 5 mile point light house. Best views of the sunset and easy to park and walk around. Its very peaceful and not many people are around.
