Share places that are off the beaten path. Sometimes areas that are touristy are not the best places. The locals know best. Share what you have found.

If you are visiting Connecticut, Hubbard Park is a nice long hike straight to the top, with a view that is worth the hike. There is a difficult hike and an easy hike. The difficult hike is shorter to the top as it cuts through the forest and rocky terrain, while the easier hike uses the roads to get to the top. I believe this is the highest point from CT to Maine and is beautiful to visit during the fall.

Next I would recommend any of the lighthouses in the area. My favorite lighthouse is 5 mile point light house. Best views of the sunset and easy to park and walk around. Its very peaceful and not many people are around.

Share your traveling tips. Ever had a lesson learned that would have saved you time and money? Best time to travel, travel agencies to book through, what to pay extra for etc. Name the place and the tip so others can learn and enjoy more.

Let's avoid chain stores and chain restaurants and support local "Ma and Pa Shops." The hole-in-the-wall restaurants and local hot spots are the best experiences. Small coffee shops have the best pastries and coffee. Share what you have found.
